Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 31, 2026 · WCAG 2.1 Level AA

DC Sports Infrastructure (“Durosport”) is committed to ensuring that the Durosport Play platform — available at play.durosport.in and as an Android mobile application — is accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Our platform serves young athletes (ages 6–18), parents, coaches, and academy administrators across India. We recognise that accessibility is essential for inclusive participation in sports education and are continuously working to improve the experience for all users.

1. Conformance Status

Durosport Play is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to achieve full conformance.

Target Standard: WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Current Status: Partially Conformant

Assessment Method: Internal review and automated testing

Last Assessed: March 28, 2026 (Security & Compliance Audit)

2. Accessibility Features Currently In Place

The following accessibility measures are implemented across the Durosport Play platform:

2.1 Perceivable

  • Language attribute: All pages declare lang="en" on the HTML element for screen reader language detection.
  • ARIA labels: Icon-only buttons and social media links include aria-label attributes for screen readers.
  • ARIA live regions: Toast notifications use aria-live="polite" to announce updates to screen readers without interrupting the user.
  • Colour contrast: The platform uses a high-contrast light theme with carefully selected colour pairings designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Image alt text: Product images in the marketplace and sponsor logos include descriptive alternative text.

2.2 Operable

  • Keyboard input support: Message composition fields support Enter key submission for ease of use.
  • Focus indicators: All form inputs display visible focus rings (focus:ring-2) when navigated via keyboard.
  • Reduced motion: The student curriculum page respects the prefers-reduced-motion setting using Tailwind's motion-safe: utilities.
  • Interactive state indicators: Expandable curriculum modules use aria-expanded and aria-pressed to communicate state to assistive technologies.

2.3 Understandable

  • Semantic HTML: Navigation elements use <nav>, page structure uses <section> and <footer>, and content is organised with proper heading hierarchy.
  • Form validation: Input fields use Zod schema validation with clear error messages communicated to users.
  • Consistent navigation: Role-based navigation (sidebar on desktop, bottom nav on mobile) provides consistent patterns across all dashboard views.

2.4 Robust

  • Standards-compliant markup: The platform is built with Next.js and React, producing valid HTML5 markup compatible with modern assistive technologies.
  • Security headers: Content Security Policy, X-Frame-Options, and other security headers are configured to protect users while maintaining assistive technology compatibility.

3. Known Limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility gaps and are actively working to resolve them. Each item includes our planned timeline for remediation.

Reduced Motion Support

Framer Motion animations on the messaging, leaderboard, and achievement screens do not yet fully respect the prefers-reduced-motion operating system setting. Users who have enabled reduced motion may still see some animations.

Planned fix: Q2 2026

Skip Navigation Link

A “skip to main content” link is not yet available on all pages. Keyboard-only users may need to tab through navigation elements to reach the main content area.

Planned fix: Q2 2026

Focus Management in Modals

Some modal dialogs (e.g., payment confirmation, batch selection) do not trap keyboard focus. Focus may move behind the modal when tabbing, which can disorient keyboard-only and screen reader users.

Planned fix: Q2 2026

ARIA Coverage on Dashboard Pages

Several dashboard pages (admin student management, coach attendance, batch management) have incomplete ARIA labelling on interactive elements such as buttons, dropdowns, and data tables.

Planned fix: Q2–Q3 2026

Alt Text on User-Uploaded Content

User-uploaded profile photos and academy logos may not have meaningful alternative text descriptions, as these rely on user-provided content.

Planned fix: Q3 2026 (with alt text prompts during upload)

Charts and Data Visualisations

Recharts-based skill radar charts, progress rings, and analytics graphs on the student insights and admin analytics pages do not currently provide text alternatives or data table equivalents for screen reader users.

Planned fix: Q3 2026

4. Technologies

The accessibility of Durosport Play relies on the following technologies working with your browser and any assistive technologies or plugins you may use:

  • HTML5
  • CSS (Tailwind CSS)
  • JavaScript (React 18, Next.js 14)
  • WAI-ARIA (Web Accessibility Initiative — Accessible Rich Internet Applications)

The platform is designed for compatibility with modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and mobile devices (Android via Capacitor). We test with the latest stable versions.

5. Assessment Approach

DC Sports Infrastructure assesses the accessibility of Durosport Play through the following methods:

  • Internal review: Our development team reviews new features against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria during the development process.
  • Automated security and compliance audit: A comprehensive audit was conducted on 28 March 2026 covering 28 security and compliance findings, all of which were remediated. This included DPDP Act 2023 compliance measures that intersect with accessibility (e.g., parental consent flows for minors).
  • Manual testing: Key user flows are tested with keyboard-only navigation and screen reader software.

We plan to engage a third-party accessibility auditor for a formal WCAG audit as our user base grows.

6. Accessibility for Young Athletes

Durosport Play serves students aged 6–18. We recognise that young users, including those with learning differences, visual impairments, or motor disabilities, deserve an equally engaging sports training experience. Our design choices reflect this:

  • Simple, consistent navigation patterns across all student-facing screens.
  • Large touch targets on mobile (minimum 44×44 CSS pixels) for the bottom navigation bar and primary action buttons.
  • Gamification elements (XP, badges, leaderboards) are designed with text labels alongside icons so they are not communicated solely through colour or imagery.
  • Student login uses a simple ID-based system (no complex email/password) to reduce barriers for younger users.

7. Applicable Standards & Indian Context

While India does not currently mandate WCAG compliance for private SaaS platforms, the following guidelines and laws inform our approach:

  • Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act): Recognises the right to access information and communication technology. Section 42 encourages accessible electronic and digital content.
  • Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0): While applicable to government websites, these guidelines (based on WCAG 2.0 AA) represent India's accessibility benchmark and inform our standards.
  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act): Our platform's compliance with the DPDP Act — including verifiable parental consent for minors under 18 — ensures that accessibility and data protection work together to protect young users.
  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA (W3C): Our primary conformance target, covering perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness.
